Although Oktoberfest is a Bavarian tradition, the Swiss village of New Glarus has adopted this tradition just as many other American villages have. Oktoberfest is a multi-event weekend in New Glarus. Oktoberfest presents many activities in downtown New Glarus throughout the weekend including live music in the festival tent (with German singing!), games, rides, and great traditional food. Other events customarily include tractor-drawn wagon rides, Swiss Historical Village events with local historical displays and craft demonstrations and plenty of other fun activities. The New Glarus Brewery will also be open. Here one can see the German Rheinheitsgebot in action if you choose to go on one of the free tours available throughout the day.

Everyone is welcome to come, regardless if you are a German Club member or not. You can even bring your friends if you'd like.
